Chester Allen Dies Today At His Home
Chester Allen, 80, 2518 Main street, died this morning at his home at 10:20 a.m. after an illness of ten weeks.
Born Nov. 18, 1885, in Harrison county, he was the son of John J. and Isadora Davis Allen. He was married 63 years ago, to Miss Mabel Estes. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a retired tin-plate worker. He had lived in Elwood since 1900.
Survivors include the widow; and the following children, Howard of Tampa, Fla., Bruce of Cayuga, Calif., Jean J. of Frankton, Karl M. of Indianapolis, Bill of Elwood, Donald R. of Frankton, Mrs. Clarabelle Johnson of North Kingston, R.I. and Mrs. Mary I. Williams of Peachside, Calif., a sister, Miss Mary M. Allen of Thousand Oaks, Calif., 24 grandchildren and eight (great) grandchildren.
Body is at the Copher and Fesler funeral where friends may call after 7 o'clock Tuesday evening.
