Mildred was born in Madison County on January 28, 1928 to the late James Williams Shelton and the late Carrie Gregory Shelton. Her husband, Thurman Suttles also preceded her in death.
Mildred was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church. She loved cutting her grass and working in her flowers. She was also known as a good cook.
Surviving Mildred are her siblings, Rosemary Foster, Clyde Shelton and Dean Shelton (Linda), and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.
