Frank Cole, 94, of Salina, passed away Thursday May 24, 2018 at Presbyterian Manor. He was born in Lincoln, Nov. 20, 1923 to Blaine and Elsie (Hunter) Cole. He married Dorothy Havely, July 29, 1945, in Glendale Calif.
Frank graduated from Beverly Rural High School, attended Oklahoma City University and Bethany College. He farmed in the Beverly area for over 60 years. He also served on the USD 298 school board for 20 years, and the Beverly district fire board for 8 years.
Frank and his wife retired to EagleCrest Retirement Community in Salina in 2010. He had a passion for gardening his entire life and helped start a garden at Eaglecrest.
He had a deep love for family, enjoying his grandchildren and especially his great-grandchildren in his later years. Frank had a special ability to entertain people with his storytelling. He always loved to make people feel welcome.
Survivors: wife, Dottie; children, Stephen Cole (Melanie), Carolyn Smith (Stephen), Mike Cole (Julie), Richard Cole, Cathy Steiner (Randall), and Frank Cole (Sheri); 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Max and Duane Cole. He was preceded in death by: grandson, Spencer Cole; and siblings, Dorothy Harr, Roy and Bill Cole.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, with burial in Beverly Cemetery. A meal will be provided at the Beverly Township Hall following the service. Memorials to: St. Jude Children's Hospital.
