Dorothy Ann Cole was born June 3, 1925 on the family's farm in Scott township, Lincoln County, Kansas; the nearest town was Barnard. She was the 2nd of six children born to Blaine Harry Cole and Elsie Beryl (Hunter) Cole. The family then moved to Logan township in Lincoln County, where Dorothy grew up; she graduated from high school in Beverly, Kansas in 1942. She also took business courses after high school.
On June 26, 1946, she married Gerald Harr in Salina (Saline County), Kansas. They had thee children: Gerald Duane, Cynthia Ann ("Cindy") and Ricky Eugene. Her children presented her with six grandchildren.
They moved to Pueblo, Colorado, where their daughter and second son were born. In 1958, the Harr's were living in McPherson, Kansas; at some point after, they moved to the Wheat Ridge, Colorado area where they spent the remainder of their lives.

Survived by three children, 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
