Olin Adams, age 89, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Uptown VA Augusta, GA.

A native of Chesnee, SC, son of the late James Boyce Adams (1891–1961) and Elura Evelene Gossett Adams (1902–1967); loving husband of the late Betty Jean Ream Adams (1934–2010).

Lived most of his life in Martinez, GA, and Plum Branch, SC; served in the United States Navy during World War II as a SEABEE in Nagasaki, Japan; and worked for Olin Plunkett Heating & AC over 25 years.

Survived by sisters, Ethel Adams Chapman-Parker (1933–2017 and Euna Mae Lee(Daniel); brother-in-law Joe Johnson; sisters-in-law, Winnifred Adams (Ben) and Hazel Adams (Gus), daughter: Helen Adams Jones, seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, and grand-nieces.

Also predeceased by his son, Olin Wayne Adams (1954–1981); brothers, Gus Adams, Ben Irvin Adams (1929–1984), Robert Clayton Adams (1931–1958) and wife, Virginia, and Phillip Adams (Judy); sisters, Margaret Helen Adams Smythia (1922–2003), Beatrice Gilbert(Boyd), and Hazel Elaine Adams Johnson (1938–2005).

Memorial services were held at 2:30 pm, February 26, 2017, at The Sanctuary of Augusta Church, Evans, GA, with military honors; interment was at Plum Branch Cemetery, Plum Branch, SC.

The family received friends at 2:00 pm immediately prior to service.
