The remains of Guardsman William Bayliss and Guardsman David Blyth of 1st (Armoured) Battalion, the Coldstream Guards were discovered by a farmer ploughing his field in the hamlet of La Marvindiere, Normandy, in 2015. The Ministry of Defence's Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre held a re-dedication service for both soldiers on 20 September 2023

His name also appears on the Bayeux Memorial, and on a family headstone in Grimsby Scartho Road Cemetery.
