The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 15,2023, at Love Memorial Baptist Church, where Hazel was a member, with Rev. Mike Criswell officiating. Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery.
Born on April 19, 1932, in Graham County, N.C. Hazel was the daughter of the late Robert Virgil Hyde and Mary Thelma Hooper Hyde. Hazel retired from Burlington Industries (Millikan) in Cramerton, N.C. She loved her family and her church family. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, W.M.U. and gathering with friends from the YMCA.
In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ormand Hayes; sisters, Regina Willis, Dorothy Collins, and DorisGodwin; brothers, Phillip Hyde and Reid Hyde.
Surviving are her daughters, Patty Paradis (Greg) of Charlotte, NC and Michele Dawes of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Robert Paradis (Michelle), Katie Illig, Thomas Paradis, and Patrick Dawes; three great grandchildren.
