Her parents were married on October 17, 1808 at St. Michael's Church in Ashton-Under-Lyne. They had 13 children and Lucy was the second youngest, being born on April 22, 1828 in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Lancashire, England.
Some of her siblings converted to the Church of Latter Day Saints (Morman) and emigrated to the United States.
She married Robert Dennett in April 1853 at the age of 25 in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Lancashire, England. They emigrated to the USA May 23, 1884 and settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They had 6 children. She was a cotton weaver in England and her husband was a bricklayer.
She died on November 7, 1901 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA at the age of 73 years.
