OBITUARY
SAVANNAH MORNING NEWS S
AVANNAH, CHATHAM COUNTY, GA
22 JUNE 2002

The youngest of 14 children born to James and Mary Bennett of Blackshear, she was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and daughter-in-law. She was the devoted wife and partner of Pat Brannen for 59 years during which time they resided in Statesboro and in Kissimmee, FL. Sue loved and was treasured by her "four girls". She dedicated much of her life to raising them and, with Pat, to teaching them to be loving parents to their eight children whom she dearly loved. To most of her grandchildren she was "Mama Sue," to one "Grandmama," and to a couple just plain "Sue". Regardless of name, she was cherished by all. Sue was an active and dedicated member of Statesboro First Baptist Church and The First Baptist Church of Kissimmee. Her gentle caring manner was the perfect companion to Pats spirited delivery. Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Pat Brannen and two daughters, Beverly Hopkins and Faye Bennett Anderson. Sue Bennetts legacy is great. She loved and was loved and will greatly be missed. We entrust her into Gods hands and give thanks to Him for our time with her. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Jimmy Blitch, of Statesboro and their four children, Susan Bozeman, Jo Helen Propes, Matt Blitch and Patty Harris; their nine children, Bennett Bozeman, Elliot, Blitch and Joseph Propes, Matthew, Henry and Tatum Blitch, Walker and Sam Harris; daughter and son-in-law, Lanier and Fred Begeman and her children, Hadley and Patrick Hege of Miami; son-in-law, Carter Hopkins of Vero Beach and his sons Carter Hopkins, Jr. and Patrick Hopkins; their sons Carter III, Lindsey and Bowen Hopkins.
Visitation: 3:00-4:30 p. m. Sunday, June 23 at Joiner Anderson Funeral Home. Graveside Service: 5:00 p. m. Sunday, June 23 at Eastside Cemetery with Dr. Ralph Lightsey officiating.
