WEST WEBER – Mrs. Mary Reid Penman, 60 of West Weber died this morning at her home after an extended illness.
Mrs. Penman was an active member of the LDS West Weber Ward and served as a Relief Society and Primary Teacher. She had been active in community affairs, especially in the polio and war bond drives.
She was born August 12, 1893, in Salt Lake City, a daughter of John B. and Sinah Bishop Reid. Prior to her marriage she was employed by ZCMI.
On March 3, 1920, she was married to Charles Penman in the LDS Salt Lake Temple. She had resided in West Weber since that time.
Surviving are her husband, West Weber; three daughters: Mrs. Daniel (Barbara) Coffman, Monrovia, California; Mrs. Pete (Phyllis) Johnson, Salt Lake City, and Miss Geraldine Penman, West Weber; four grandchildren, her mother, Salt Lake City; two brothers and two sisters; Byron Reid, Richmond, California; Richard R. Reid, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Clarence (Gertrude) Lesser, Hayward, California, and Mrs. Joe (Ruth) Steenblik, Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be announced by Lindquist and Sons Colonial Funeral Chapel, 3408 Washington Blvd.
