Carroll met and married Don E. Palmer on December 24, 1946. Together they had five children. They continued to live and raise their family in Mackay. Carroll worked for many years at Doc Barters office in Mackay. After raising her five children Carroll traveled the world with her husband Don. She spent many years in Saudia Arabia and was very happy there.
Carroll loved to hunt rocks and go "junking", her grandchildren spent many hours on the flats looking for arrowheads with her. She loved birds, flowers, her horses, and her cat. She was also an avid reader with a photographic memory and was the country's greatest storyteller.
Carroll taught her children lessons until the very end, and they now know where they get their courage and strength from. Her children always knew where they stood with their mom.
Carroll was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Harmony Chapter 44. She truly loved her chapter and held the position of Worthy Matron at the same time her husband was Worthy Patron.
Carroll is survived by her five children, Dawn Northouse of Mackay, Linda (Joe) Piva of Challis, Terrie (Glen) of Mackay Kim (Mark) Taylor of Pocatello, and Chip (Lori) Palmer of Mackay, 14 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
