Mr. Clarence Yates, Stanford Native, Dies In Kalamazoo
Mr. Clarence. Yates died Nov. 12 at Kalamazoo, Mich.
He was born Dec. 31, 1923, in Stanford, the son of Walter E. and Mable Reed Yates and had resided in Kalamazoo since 1947.
He was employed as a moulder at the U. S. Foundry. Mr. Yates was a veteran of World War II and a member of the V.F.W.
Surviving are: his. wife, Willia; one daughter, Kathleen; one son, Clarence W., at home; his father, Mr. Walter Yates of Stanford; 4 brothers, Ernest and Wendell of Cincinnati; Charles and, Walter Jr. of Stanford; 4 sisters Mrs. George Roberts of Danville; Mrs. Grace Sutton of Paris; Mrs. Lyda Chaney of McKinney and Mrs. Helen Foley of Phoenix, Ariz.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Carleton Benson of 'the Stockbridge Avenue Methodist Church, at the Truesdale Downtown Chapel Saturday.
Interment was at. the Riverside Cemetery. Interior Journal 21 November 1963 page 1
