Thomas W. Walden, the son of Tilson and Susan Daniel Walden was born Nov.12,1848 in Madison County, Kentucky. He migrated with his parents to Audrain County, Missouri near Mexico, Missouri. After his marriage to Elizabeth F. Barnes they moved to Bates County, Missouri, and then they moved on to Polk County, Missouri about 1883 and their they settled on what was to be the Walden place until 1944. Thomas was very hard to live with and because of his bad temper Elizabeth asked him to leave. He moved to Mohawk and managed a Bar there for a few years and the last years of his life he spent with his son Charles in Colorado. He steped on a rusty nail and died of Lockjaw on Oct.17, 1920.
