He was a son to George and Wilma (Thompson) Black. In Jan 1970, he married Janice Davis, who survives.
Also surviving two sons, Mike (Rosanna), Greenville, PA, and Chuck (Kristine), Rockford; a daughter, Kristine (Mike) Durnell, Celina; a stepson, Brett (Michelle) Riley, Celina; a sister, Patricia (Gerald) Hoblet, Decatur, IN; two sisters-in-law, Ellen and Gloria, both Rockford; and ten grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Ray and Don; and a sister, Eileen Fleming.
He was a retired tool and die maker for the former Huffy Corporation, Celina, and Chrysler Corporation, Van Wert. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Celina and Rockford, The Loyal Order of Moose Lodge in Celina and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Celina. He was a 1955 graduate of Willshire High School.
Services were at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. James Richter officiating.
