Wilma was born Nov. 8, 1912 to Charles and Anna (Hunt) Burgess in Superior, Iowa, one of 12 children. She attended high school in Duluth and later moved to Milwauke, where she was employed as a food service manager for many years. She returned to Duluth in 1980, and in 1999 moved to Two Harbors. She was known for her many hats.
Wilma is preceded in death by parents, her husband, Louis Manthey; 11 brothers and sisters; and her son-in-law, Phil Larson.
She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Larson of Two Harbors; six grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services held in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Two Harbors.
