Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Jean (Williams) Barber is scheduled for 10:00 A. M., Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Ringling with Lafon Glenn officiating. Interment will follow at Crow cemetery.
Doris was born January 14, 1937 in Orr, OK to the late Mr. Earl Williams and Mrs. Sybil Truecillah (Patty) Williams. She departed from this life on Saturday, May 20, 2023 in Oklahoma City, OK.
Doris was raised at Orr attending school there and graduating from Ringling. She was one of 3 children, being the middle child. Upon graduating, she moved to Oklahoma City, initially working at Clements Foods, where she met her future husband, Donald Barber. They married on November 26, 1959 at Durant and made their home in Oklahoma City. Doris worked for L&S Bearing for over 30 years, retiring as a supervisor in 2001. Don preceded her in death on July 21, 2005. In her retirement, she loved going on walks, doing crossword puzzles, and being the Nana to all her kids.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; step sons, Donnie and Danny; and brothers, Don and Cecil Williams.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Debe Hargis and husband Matt of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Jade Jones and husband James and Cody Hargis; special great grandson, Evan Cordon; four other great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; and very special neighbors, Jody and Alan Weaver of Oklahoma City.
Pallbearers will be Even Cordon, Cody Hargis, Derek Williams, Tanner Williams, Brent Jackson, and Willy Inselman. Honorary bearers will be Alan Weaver, Rod Davis, and Tyler Inselman.
