Cornelius Ball Laid to Rest This Afternoon.
The military funeral of Cornelius Ball was held at the Second Reformed church this afternoon at 2 o'clock. The church was filled with friends and relatives of the deceased and with a representation from Company C, of which the deceased was a member. The remains lay in a silver gray shrine casket over which the flag was draped. Among the flowers and ?et pieces was a wreath from Company C. which rested on the casket, and carnations from Dr. 0. A. LaCrone and from the Ladies' Aid society of the Second Reformed church. The bearers from Company C were Fred Appeldoorn, Will Van Norden, Louis Downey, John Rabbers, Charles Reed anu Byron Wells.
A quartet composed of the Misses Vni Brook and Den Adel sang "Rock of Ages' and other appropriate selections. Rev. J. M. Vender Meulen in speaking of the deceased, touched appreciatively upon his many good qualities and his soldierly conduct and patriotism. Burial was at Riverside.
