Steve "Jack" Dempski, 78, of Grayslake, IL, passed peacefully on Monday, August 14, 2023, after a brave and courageous battle with Mesothelioma cancer. He was born and raised in North Chicago, IL, to Steve and Helen (née Serwa) Dempski.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Joanie (née Plesnjak) Dempski. They were married at Holy Rosary Church in North Chicago on May 24, 1980.

He attended North Chicago Community High School from 1958 through 1962 and later received an associate degree in accounting from College of Lake County. Jack was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the US Army from 1965 – 1967. Most of his career was spent at American Can in Waukegan, which later became Silgan Containers and then Rexham, retiring in 2006. Jack was a parishioner of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lake Villa, IL.

"Good Morning"- no matter what time of day it is, to Jack it was always a good morning! He was a joyous man who always had a smile and wanted the best for everyone. Jack will be remembered for his jokes and quick wit, he naturally brightened up a room. His favorite things to do were playing golf, visiting casinos, buying & selling collectables on eBay, and just taking a walk around the neighborhood in Carillon North. Above all, the time spent with his family was a priority. Jack was very involved with his children and grandchildren, sharing stories, giving sound advice, and building Lego sets.
