Ronald David "Ronny" Thomas was born in Denison TX on December 18,1943, to parents Harvey RC "Butch" Thomas and Edna Rose (McClure) Thomas. He passed from this life on August 5, 2023, due to complications of Parkinson's disease at 79 years old. He was the baby of the family of 5 children, and the only boy.

He graduated from Denison High School in 1961. He served 6 years in the Army National Guard. After working at Safeway and Auto Parts, he went to work at Southwestern Bell Telephone Co at age 19 and retired as a systems tech with 36 years of service. He played an integral role in installing Denison's first 911 system, as well as installing the lottery circuits in convenience stores all around the area.

Ronny is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lorrie, of the home; son, Blane Thomas (Michelle) of Denison, daughter, Heather McDonald (Billy) of Denison, daughter, Mauri Maurizio of Tampa, FL, daughter by marriage Amanda White (Rodney) of Ector TX, 5 grandchildren, Dylan Thomas, Isabella Maurizio, Avalyn Maurizio, Hudsyn White and Harlyn White; one sister, Pat Davis of Wilmington NC and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Gladys Kerley, Opal Ferguson, and Linda Jean Thomas (who died in infancy), 3 brothers-in-law, Doyle Kerley, Jim Davis, and Frank Ferguson, and one nephew, Ricky Ferguson.

Ronny grew up in simple times and spoke fondly of life as a kid in Denison. He never craved more throughout his life than those same simple things, including a good meal, a good game of golf or tennis, a good road trip through the country, or a good visit with friends or family, to name a few. We loved him, and we will miss his laugh, his stories, his sense of humor, and his sheer presence in our lives.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Trinity Lighthouse Church, 2915 Spur 503, Denison, TX, with nephew Greg Kerley, daughter, Heather McDonald, and Pastor Raymond England officiating. Ronny will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery, N 3rd St, Calera, OK following the funeral service. Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Fisher Funeral Home.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Jeff White, Rodney White, Justin White, Trevor Raney, Kyle Bryson, and Colby Wadley.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Heart to Heart Hospice for your compassion and care for Ronny. Your dedication in helping us bring him home and keep him comfortable in his final days will never be forgotten.
