Lowell J. Gordon, 84, of Hartford City, passed away at 6 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on Monday, April 17, 1939, in Hartford City.
Lowell married Johnny Geraldine "Henri" (Hess) Gordon on Saturday, July 21, 2012, in Hartford City.
He was a Montpelier High School graduate.
Lowell served in the United States Army.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Hartford City.
Lowell worked for 3M Company, Hartford City, for 38 1/2 years.
He also did maintenance for Crystal Lake Mobile Home Park, Wauchula, Fla.
Lowell co-owned L&H Gordon Service Center, Hartford City.
He was a former member of Montpelier Jaycees.
Lowell was very active with Montpelier Little League.
He also was a member of Alethia Chapter #206 Order of Eastern Star and Montpelier Masonic Lodge #600 F&AM.
Lowell will be sadly missed by his wife, Henri (Hess) Gordon, of Hartford City; daughters, Jeannie (Rod) Myers, of Huntington, and Sherri Givens, of Hammond, Wisc.; son, Charles D. (Sandra) Gordon, of Zeeland, Mich.; step-sons, William Wallace, of Moorseville, and Clyde (Megan) Wallace, of Hartford City; step-daughter, Rachel (Mark) Tucker, of Montpelier; sister, Betty Hendricks, of Hartford City; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn J. (Shores) Gordon, father, James Clinton Gordon, mother, Myrtle B. (Hiser) Gordon, and sister, Minnie Johnson.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier, on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, from 1 to 3 p.m.
A Masonic service will be at 1 p.m.
A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. with Clyde Wallace officiating.
Military rites will be conducted by the United States Army.
Memorial donations can be made to Trinity Church, 300 N. Walnut St., Hartford City, IN 47348.
Arrangements are being handled by Walker & Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier.
