"At the death of Mr. Fenwick a manuscript was opened which revealed that he wished to be buried in a white oak tree whose growth he had watched with interest.
The tree was cut down, hewed out as a coffin, and was lined by Meeks funeral directors. The lid was made from the same tree. The huge coffin was carried on pikes, six men on a side, and a special hearse was needed to transport it to the cemetery"

He was buried in a white oak cut from his property. His sons cut it down, hewed the inside out, and Meeks lined the log like a casket.
