Melvin D. Ward, 68, of Norwood passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 5, 2023.

He was born in Potsdam to the late Kenneth and Margaret (Martin) Ward on May 6, 1955.

Melvin married Tracy LaRock in Norwood on November 7, 1986, and was self-employed as a roofing and siding contractor.

He enjoyed his friends and family, especially spending time with his wife of over 36 years.

He was a car and truck enthusiast who enjoyed learning and talking about them.

Besides his parents, Melvin is predeceased by his twin; Marvin Ward, brothers, Richard Ward, Donald Ward, Kenneth Ward, Leonard "Mickey" Ward, and infant, Leon Ward, and his sisters, Eva Sharlow and Joyce Ward.

Surviving Melvin is his loving wife; his son of Louisville; two step-sons and their wives of Winthrop and Bloomsvale, a daughter by choice of Norwood; two granddaughters and twin grandsons; his siblings, a sister of Brasher Iron Works, and a brother of Winthrop, a sister-in-law of Norwood; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.
