At the age of 40, on 3/7/1934 he m: Emily Gladys "Gladys" (MacBeth), a daughter of Charles Cummings MacBeth and Alice (Murphy) of Prince Edward Island, CAN and later Worcester, MA. Gladys had lived on Prince Edward Island in CAN before moving to Brookline, MA when she met Fred. Fred held several positions in town, and his favorite past time was carving bird decoys and finishing fur pelts which he became known for. They resided on Ford Place at the corner of Country Way in Greenbush (Scituate), MA. They had an only daughter, Gladys Ann "Gladie Ann" Clapp, b.1936, Scituate, who m: John Clarence "Jack" Hughes and they resided in Wells, VT. After Fred's death, Gladys went to live with their daughter in Wells, VT where she died in 1977.
