Funeral services for Vern Ford Batty, born Nov. 1, 1924 and died May 17, 2000, were held Monday, May 22 in the Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary with Harmon Hogkinson conducting.

Bruce Kendall offered the family prayer.

Prelude music was a recording of "Grandpa, Tell Me About the Good Old Days," by The Judds.

Allen Batty gave the invocation.

Speakers were Milton Searle and Dez Murray.
Joe Marts sang "Ballad of Vern Batty."
Wade Robbins, David Batty and Tina Cumberledge offered closing remarks.

Postlude music was a recording of "Johnny Reb" sung by Johnny Horton.

Dan Volz gave the benediction and Craig Batty dedicated the grave.

Pallbearers were Neil Batty, David Batty, John Cumberledge, Brad Batty, Jack Cumberledge and Jason Adams.

Interment was in the Vernal Memorial Park with military honors offered by the VFW and American Legion.

Services were under the direction of Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary with compassionate services offered by the Vernal 2nd Ward Relief Society.
