Marie was born July 26, 1926 in Vernal to Daniel Vern and Bessie Ford Batty. She married Donnell E. Wardle on December 19, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She is survived by her eternal companion, Don; three daughters; Charlene(Kenneth)Horne, Marlene(Darrell)Bott, Melinda(Daniel)Jensen; 17 grandchildren, one great grandchild, a brother, Neal Batty and a sister, Nola Kendall. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Vern and Rex Batty.
Marie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, faithfully serving in many and varied positions in her ward. She and her husband served an LDS mission to the Chicago, Illinois Temple, and she served as a temple worker in both the Provo and Vernal Temples. She was a long time member of the Vernal Lions Club, and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She cared most about her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed quilting, embroidery, crocheting, and working in her flower gardens.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 16, 2001 in the Glines 5th and 8th Ward Chapel in Vernal, Utah. Interment will be in the Maeser Cemetery under the direction of the Spafford Funeral Home.
