Ms. Betty Dwiggins Lakey Anderson, 89, of Mocksville, transitioned to eternal rest Sunday, August 6, 2023, at her home.

She was born July 30, 1934, in Davie County, to the late Marshall Lee and Nora Belle Parks Dwiggins. Betty was a charter member of Blaise Baptist Church. Through the years she had worked for Ingersoll-Rand, C's BBQ, The Red Pig, and was a partner at Country Frills with her daughter-in-law, Angie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Charlie Hugh Lakey; son, Chuck Lakey; son-in-law, George Dayton; a great-grandson; and her siblings, and their spouses, Everett Dwiggins (Lilly), Bill Dwiggins (Bernice), and Lester Dwiggins (Peggy).

Survivors include her children, Marsha Lakey Hunter Dayton, and Doug Lakey (Angie); daughter-in-law, Scarlett Lakey; grandchildren, Brad Hunter (Shauna), Ben Hunter, Clinton Lakey, and Austin Lakey (Emily); six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12 p.m., Tuesday, August 8, at Blaise Baptist Church Chapel (Bldg. 400) with Rev. Ken Furches and Dr. Bill Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family invites friends to visit with them at the church one hour prior to the service.
