Mr. Cummings was born Sept. 1, 1891, in Harris County, Ga., the son of the late Thomas J. and Fletcher McCrary Cummings. He is a retired employee of Muscogee County. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and had resided in Columbus for the past 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Adalee M. Cummings, Columbus; a son, James Kyle Cummings, Columbus; two daughters, Mrs. Bishop Griffin, Columbus and Mrs. Marjorie Rumsey, Tampa, Fla.; one brother Charles F. Cummings, Columbus; three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Layfield and Mrs. Minnie Smith, Columbus, and Mrs. Carrie Bailey, LaGrange; and six grandchildren.
