The call to enter the higher life came to Everett Kimball last week Thursday morning at the hospital in Arlington where he had been a patient for some weeks. He was a native of Littleton, being the third child in a family of six. His parents were Allen W. and Mary Jane Hutchins Kimball and he as born October 20, 1863.

In 1891 he was united in marriage with Miss Alice Chamberlin, who died in 1918. To them were born six children, Mrs. B. W. Seaman of Hempstead, L.I.; Mrs. Philip Richmond of Brockton, Mrs. Clyde Deming of New Haven, Conn., Mrs. Alton Hutchinson, Foster Kimball and Allen Kimball of this town.

When about 18 years of age he began work in the grocery store at the Common, after a few years became one of the partners and for nearly 5 years was in charge of the store at the depot section of the town. On account of ill health he was obliged to give up his work about a year ago. Then it was hoped that rest and treatment would bring about a restoration to health, but such was not the case.

Funeral services were held at the home at two o'clock Sunday afternoon when Rev. H.H. Powell of the Baptist church with which Mr. Kimball had long been identified as a faithful member and attendant officiated. Mr. Kimball had served his church as deacon and senior deacon for several years. In his address on "A good names is rather to be chosen than great riches" Mr. Powell paid a fitting tribute to the life and character of the deceased and spoke words of comfort to the mourning family and friends. Mrs. Jessie Young played old hymns softly on the organ before and after the service. The flowers of wonderful beauty were banked about the casket and room and showed the respect and sympathy of hosts of friends. The bearers were the four sons-in-law, Dr. B.G. Seamen, Dr. Clyde Deming, Philip Richmond and Alton Hutchinson, and the interment was in the family lot in Westlawn cemetery.

Besides the six children before mentioned, six grandchildren survived as well as two sisters, Miss Alice Kimball and Mrs. Henry Couper of this town and two brothers, Henry Elmer Kimball of Worcester and George A. Kimball of Westford.

In spite of the severe storm on Sunday many gathered to pay the last tribute to one so worthy of their respect and among those from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Chamberlin of East Orange, NJ, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Hartwell of Lexington, Miss Esther Dodge of Cambridge, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Woodbury of Worcester, Mrs. Francis Dodge and Mrs. Alta Hollis of Ayer.
