SUMNER, DOROTHY L., 101, of Bradenton, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at Sarasota Hospice House. She came here in 1924 from St. Louis and moved to Bradenton six years ago. She worked for the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and was a church secretary for First United Methodist Church of St. Petersburg. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church, serving as superintendent of the Sunday school Primary department and was secretary of the Senior High department where she organized the Junior Church. She was a member of the Inter-Lock Club and president of the Women's Missionary Society, organizing president of the United Methodist Women, and Circle chairperson. She was also president of the Euclid Parent Teacher's Association, the Women of Rotary, and of the Legislative committee. Survivors include a son, James; a grandson, Bruce; and two great-grandchildren, all of Bradenton. R. Lee Williams & Son Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Petersburg.
