Sally Ann Burmeister, 78, of Bradenton, Florida, formally of Woodstock, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2023 at the Brookdale Bradenton Gardens Memory Care in Bradenton.
She was born September 18, 1944, in Woodstock, the daughter of Clyde A. and Mildred (Torman) Bond Sr. She married Thomas Burmeister on October 19, 1968.
Sally was a hair stylist in Woodstock working at The Brush Inn, Dorothy's Beauty Salon and Headquarters Salon & Spa. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Woodstock Hospital, a CCD teacher, and a mentor at Olson Middle School. Sally was elected to the District 200 School Board and devoted herself to helping future generations in her community. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she served as lecturer at Sunday mass for several years.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Thomas, her daughter, Stefanie (Christopher) Spitson, a brother, James (Ruth) Bond, her sisters Mary Picton, Dixie (Peter) Pagor, Janice (Robert) Newman, Kathie McIntyre, Linda (Richard) Hoyt and Susanne Conner. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Thomm, five sisters and two brothers.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22nd, 2023, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Avenue, Woodstock. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 23rd, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 Lincoln Avenue, Woodstock. Interment will follow at the McHenry County Memorial Park Cemetery in Woodstock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
