Samuel was born in Nockamixon, Bucks Co. Pa He was christened on October 8 1771. He was the son of Christopher Briehl and Anna Margaret Maurer. On Jan. 3rd 1797 in Frederick Maryland he married Anna Catherine Auman. Samuel's father Christopher and his grandfather Martin were born in Bodweiler Germany
