Death of H. C. Moody
__Henry Clayton Mooody was born June 14, 1863, in Benton county, Iowa, near Garrison. He moved to Cedar Rapids in 1898 and died at the family residence 109 South Eight street, June 18, 1917, at 11:15 p.m.
__Mr. Moody was united in marriage to Charlotte A. Thomson, July 21, 1887, at Garrison, Iowa. She survives him.
__Two children were born to this union. One son, Dwight Moody, died in February, 1904. One daughter, Laota McCune survives him, and one grandchild, Charlotte McCune.
__Mr. Moody's parents are dead and one brother, James died in 1903. Two brothers, George and Alfred survive him.
__Mr. Moody was for years active in I. O. O. F. circles. He joined Vinton lodge No. 83, June 25, 1888, and later transferrred to Maine lodge No. 643, of this city, of which lodge he is a Past Grand. He was also a member of Star of Maine Rebekah lodge No. 221 and of Cedar Rapids Encampment.
__He was twice elected representative to the Grand Lodge I. O. O. F. of Iowa, and has for three years been a member of the Board of (Instruction) of that Grand body.
__He has for many years been a faithful and consistent member of Westminister Presbyterian church of this city.
__He had been in failing health for several months but was a patient sufferer to the end.
__He was for many years engaged as a wholesale monument salesman.
__He was a good citizen and was interested in the things that pertain to a good government. He was a loving husband and father.
__The funeral will be held at the home, 109 South Eight street, Thursday at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Linwood cemetery.
__The family requests that no flowers be sent.

W. H. Moody Is Dead
__W. H. Moody, 54 years old, 109 South Eight street, died shortly before midnight. He has been a resident of Cedar Rapids for many years.
__The funeral will be Thursday afternoon from the home. Interment in Linwood cemetery. The family requests no flowers.

Note: I did not see a stone for a W. H. Moody. W. H. Moody & Henry Clayton Moody must be the same person. I suspect that the W. H. Moody notice was probably submitted the previous day, but didb't get published until an updated version was already submitted.
