Bangor - Wilbur "Sam" Samuel Allen, 73, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Stillwater Heathcare in Bangor. Sam was born on September 14, 1949, the second child and youngest son of Merton C. Sr. and Marion (Foss) Allen.
Sam married Nancy Jane Woodward on August 7, 1976 and had two children.
Sam was a hard worker and the state of his blueberry land and woodlot in Centerville, were testaments of his work ethic. He produced thousands of wreaths for Worcester Wreath Co., but he saved the best ones to hang on the doors of his family members.
Sam could carry on a conversation with anyone and would often engage on topics ranging from the weather to politics. His smile and laugh were infectious and will be greatly missed. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports and perform in plays, and exploring different parts of Downeast Maine, where he lived the majority of his life. Later in life, Sam found joy in painting producing a storage units worth of fantastic creations.
In addition to his parents and brother, Sam was predeceased by his wife, Nancy. Surviving him are his two children, two grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
In keeping with Sam's wishes, there will be no services. Sam would want everyone to honor his memory by donating to one of your favorite local charities.
