Earl Adkins died in the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was admitted to the Hospital on 12-26-1979, He was suffering from lung cancer, Emphysema, Chronic bronchitis, Pneumoconiosis, Heart disease, Diabetes mellitus. He died on 12-29-1979 at 1:15 PM. He would have been 58 on 1-03-1980. Kathleen had his body brought home until the time of the funeral, it was held at the Church of God of Free People, Harlan Gas. Burial was in Fee Cemetery, Rose Hill,Virgina. Rev. Willard Jones and Rev. Robert Grubbs held the Funeral. Pallbearers were Charles Walker, David Adkins, Pete Milwee, Don Hammons, Allen Collett, Ralph Collett and Dennis Roark. Rich Funeral Home was in Charge.
At the time of his death he was survived by mother Flora Adkins, And his wifemKathleen Milwee Adkins. Also surviving were 13 children, Earlene Hammons, Debbie Collett, Kieth KY; Patsy Tipper, Shirley Vanbonn, Mich; Troy Adkins, Teetersville KY; Lonnie Adkins, Gulston KY; Frank, Jimmy, Kathy, Glenda, Pauline, Wanda, and Joey of Elcomb KY; And 10 grandchildren. Also surviving were three brothers Bill Adkins, Texas; Damon Adkins, Ohio; Raymond Adkins, Harlan; And a sister, Charlene Langley, Harlan.
