A highly esteemed resident of Bridgewater, Mrs. Catherine Hirtle, passed away Wednesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Morris Rhodenizer, in her 98th. year. She was the daughter of Captain and Mrs. William Conrad of Bayport and the widow of Jacob Hirtle who predeceased her forty-five years ago.
Mrs. Hirtle, who has made her home with her daughter and her family for the last forty years, is survived by her daughter, Eva, Mrs. Rhodenizer and by eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The funeral service was held at her late residence, 91 Elm Street, and was conducted by Rev. C.H. Whitteker of St. Paul's Lutheran Church with interment in Brookside Cemetery. Favourite hymns of the deceased were sung, "Jesus, Saviour, Pilot Me" and "My Faith Looks up to Thee." Fred Crouse, Dana Sarty, Calder Rhodenizer, and Robert Westhaver acted as pall-bearers.
