Mrs. Forbes was the daughter of James and Lucy Smith, born June 10, 1869 at West Union, Iowa.
In 1892, she married Lacey S. Forbes, and they established their first home in West Union, where the doctor practiced dentistry. In 1904, they moved to Nashua.
They had two children, Odetta and Laura H. Christiansen. They and the husband survive, along with four grandchildren and two sisters: Mrs. Gertrude Tilson of Evanston, IL and Mrs. Ella Forbes of Fresno, CA.
Mrs. Forbes was an active member of the Emanon Club and the Order of the Eastern Star, and she was a charter member of the White Shrine of Charles City.
The funeral was at the home Monday at 2 p.m. Rev. William Kent officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
