Donnis E. Hartman, 96, of Lewistown, passed away at 6:27 p.m., Friday, June 16, 2023, at William Penn Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Sept. 17, 1926, in Mifflin, she was a daughter of the late Charles and (Schlegel) Cubbison.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: son, Thomas Hartman; four sisters, Arlene Ickes, Flo Thibodeau, Jeanne McCrory and Nancy Pennabaker; and brothers, Ronald and Richard Cubbison.
Donnis is survived by: daughter, Cynthia Brehman and husband, Barry, of Lewistown; daughter-in-law, Carole Hartman, of Reedsville; grandchildren, Nicole Baumgardner and husband, Michael, and Chad Brehman and wife, Amanda; five great-grandchildren, Alexis Baumgardner and fiancé, Ryan Knable and their daughter, Tenley, Morgan Baumgardner and fiancé, Hadyn Crum, and Gracen, Bristol and Braxton Brehman; and a sister, Shirley Hill, of Nashville, Tenn.
She was a graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Class of 1944.
Early in life, Donnis worked at the American Viscose Corporation. Later, she was employed as a sales associate at The Bon Ton in Lewistown from 1959 until she was 80 years old.
Donnis enjoyed reading, crocheting, word puzzles and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m., Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 North Main Street, Lewistown, followed by the memorial service at 6 p.m., with Pastor Dave Aungst officiating.
Private interment will take place at a later date at Mount Rock Cemetery, Lewistown.
