Valtie was the daughter of William Rufus and Louisa Jane Harmon and one of 14 children. Valtie Estell Harmon was married to Eugene Luther Nichols. Their first child, Estell, was born in 1907 and died in 1917. Estell is buried in Rock cemetery near Duke, Oklahoma. Valtie and Eugene had another daughter, Iva Mae (Burris), in 1910 and five sons; Luther, Clyde, Carl, William, and Wesley. After the death of Eugene, Valtie remarried later in life to John Bulls. Valtie was a loving grandmother and is still missed to this day.
