Thomas Guthrie was the fourth child of 12 children born to Robert Guthrie Sr. and Jane Jean McGibboney {McGibney}. Thomas was a Presbyterian and a farmer. He married Jane Patterson on Aug. 26, 1824 in Washington Co., PA. They had seven children: Elizabeth, Mary Jane, John W., Robert, William Craig (Curtis), George W. and Thomas. Thomas died at his home in Millcreek Twp.
