He is survived by his daughter, Jody Marshall, her fiancé, Paul Kleeber and his grandchildren; Haley Marshall George and Denver Marshall George of Roseburg, Oregon; step-son, Gary York and his wife, Shelly of Sandy, Oregon; step-daughters, Debi Kempffer of Vancouver, Washington and Sandy Green of Roseburg; grandchildren, Keri Sue, Alisha, Dorian, Tony, Brian, Amy and numerous nieces and nephews.

An antique car enthusiast, Joe was always a Dodge man. His pride and joy was the never ending restoration of a very old, rare car in which he cherished. Joe always had parts on the property, and liked to trade with his best, old friend the late, Ed Pickett. Always a rancher; working the hay fields and raising his cattle, as pets all 60 of them.
Joe enjoyed taking long walks up to the age of 86 when a bad hip injury halted him. Often he could be seen walking in the Wilbur area, it was not unusual to see him strolling somewhere between North Roseburg and Sutherlin to Subway.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Roseburg Memorial Gardens.
