It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Barbara Barksdale Wallis (1954-2023). Barbara Barksdale Wallis (68) was predeceased by her parents, Virginia "Jan" Fitch and William Barksdale Jr. of Charlottesville, VA; as well as her brother Michael Barksdale and twin sister Virginia Barksdale Zore. She will be lovingly remembered as a widow of William Lanier Wallis, and is survived by her four children William Lanier Wallis Jr., Robert Earnest Wallis, Virginia Frances Wallis, Michael Edward Wallis, as well as her siblings William Barksdale III, Christopher Barksdale and Cynthia Barksdale Frentz. She was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her children. Anyone who knew them knew that she was a star in their eyes, and that's all that ever mattered to her. Barbara was a graduate of Virginia Polytechnical Institute, lived in Wintergreen, Virginia, West Point, New York, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Tampa, Florida and passed away March 18th peacefully in Tallahassee, Florida. A public Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on March 26, 2023, at Bradfordville First Baptist Church at 6524 Thomasville Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32312, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at Golden Eagle Country Club held at 3:15pm at 3700 Golden Eagle Dr E, Tallahassee, Fl 32312. Private burial services will be held in Florala, Alabama and Charlottesville, Virginia in April. Contact the family for more details.
