Funeral services for Alayne Dopson will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 16, 2023 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie with Rev. Stephen Scott Chemino officiating. Burial will follow in the Pythian Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Ms. Dopson, age 66 of Bunkie, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023 at the Avoyelles Hospital.
Layne, as everyone knew her, was a funny, carefree, practical joker. She always made sure you had a laugh, even if it embarrassed you or at the most inappropriate time.
She loved doing anything that involved her grandkids. She had to be present, from birthday parties to sporting events. She was loved by everyone who knew her, and will be missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her parents; W.G. and Janell Frank Dopson; brother, Kevin Dopson; and sister-in-law, Shirley Dopson.
Survivors include her children; Amie Terry (Lee) of Bunkie, Kathryn Brown (John) and Christopher Matthews (Mallori) of Hessmer; her siblings, Steve Dopson of MS, Monica Dopson of Evergreen, Neil Dopson of Bunkie and Margaret Dopson (Jerri) of Mobile, AL; and her grandchildren, Zachary Reynolds, Aaron Reynolds, Taylor Goudeau, Camryn Brown, Nathan Moak, Allie Matthews, Colton Matthews and Sadie Moak.
