James M. Leigh, 84 years old, died at Harpers Ferry Tuesday morning of ulceration of the bowels. He was a soldier in the Mexican War, enlisting at Nashville, Tenn., in Captain Bradshaw's company. He lived in Nashville until 27 years ago, when he removed to Harpers Ferry. His wife and six children survive him

The obituary states he died on Tuesday which would have been May 5th 1908. I believe his and Susan's markers were placed some years after their deaths when the family had the means to purchase them. The death dates appear to be incorrect on both.
James and Susan were in the Jefferson County area well before the 27 years mentioned in the obit. Their first child was born in 1864, Clarke County, Virginia.
