Antoine, the son of Jean Barada and Jeanne Duprine, was born in France about 1734.

As a young man, Antoine Barada was a soldier in the French army and served at Post Vincennes in the Illinois Country under the post commandant, Captain Louis Daniel St. Ange.

Married Marguerite Desrosiers on 23 Oct 1759 at St. Francois Xavier Catholic Church, Vincennes (Knox County, Indiana).

Listed in the 1776 Reconstructed Census of St. Louis.

The "Annals of St. Louis in its Early Days under the French and Spanish Dominations" is a book that was written by Frederic L. Billon in 1886. The following is written on pages 449 and 450:

"Antoine Barada, and his wife, Marguerite Desrosiers, were married at the post of Vincennes on October 23, 1759, where their first child, Louis, was born in 1760; they came to St. Louis with the early comers to the place, having several children born to them between their arrival here and the death of Mr. A. Barada.

1. Francis, baptized June 26, 1775.
2. Jeannette, April 6, 1777.
3. Marie Therese, Nov. 22, 1778.

Antoine Barada, Sr., died at the northeast corner of Main and Myrtle Streets in 1780, and his widow, married Joseph Sorin, dit La Rochelle, April 30, 1782."
