Notes: Christian Science services were held today for Mrs. Kate T. Emrich, a descendant of one of the first settlers in Lakewood. She died Tuesday at 78 in the Maire Nursing Home, 14501 Lake Ave., Lakewood. Her great-grandfather was Mars Wagar, who established himself in what is now Lakewood when there were few others there. Her father, a civil war vet, was the second mayor of Lakewood. Mrs. Emrich was an active member of the Christian Science Church in Lakewood. She worked in the library and taught Sunday School at the First Church of Christ in the suburb. Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. H. H. Smith and Miss Belle R. Tegardine, both of Lakewood. Services were at Sandals-Branch-Kauffman Funeral Home, 16605 Detroit Ave., Lakewood, with burial in Alger Cemetery.
