On July 4, 1933, Lois Glenn Alderfer was born in Fulton County to Ralph and Mabel Polley Alderfer. Growing up she shared her childhood with two sisters and a brother. Proudly she graduated from Richland High School with the Class of 1951.
On July 13, 1951, Lois and Rawland Dale Kamp were married . Their union produced three children, and they later divorced. On April 6, 1985, Lois and John B. Mathias were married. Sadly, he passed away on October 30, 1989.
With a great dedication, Lois was a machine operator for Moore Business Forms. In her free time, she created beautiful, embroidered gifts for family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards, especially rummy and euchre. Working word search puzzles was a way she kept sharp.
Left to cherish Lois' memory are her daughter, Elaine Shidler of Rochester; two sons: Dennis Kamp and wife Nan of Rochester, Randy Kamp and wife Ann of Goshen; five grandchildren: Emily Kamp and companion Jeffrey Kirkland, Joshua Kamp and wife Kate, Adam Shidler and wife Kelly, Brent Shidler and wife Dana, Kyle Kamp and wife Kate; ten great-grandchildren: Makenzie Kamp, Hunter Kamp, Cash Shidler, Trace Shidler, Camden Shidler, June Shidler, Madison Kamp, Dillion Kamp, Finley Kamp, Rebel Kamp with another blessing due to arrive in August of 2023; sister, Wanda "Peg" Arthur of Akron; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Lois in death are her parents; husband; infant son, Max Dale Kamp; sister, Doris Alderfer; brother Robert Alderfer and wife Betty; son-in-law Garry Shidler; and brother-in-law Harvey Arthur.
