Fields of Leesburg, KY, died May 2, 1952 at the Breeze Hospital in
Cynthiana, KY after an illness of 15 years. Mrs. Fields suffered from pulmonary
tuberculosis (TB).
Mrs. Fields was a member of the Mt. Hope Methodist Church.
Mrs. Fields, a native of Harrison County was the daughter of Mr. Augustus
(Gus) Hughes, who preceded his daughter in death, and Mrs.Flora
Works Hughes, and the granddaughter of Joseph and Sarah Ann Hale Hughes.
In addition to her husband and her mother, survivors include; a daughter, Miss
Phyllis Raye Fields (l/m: John Wilson) of Lexington, KY, a son, Joel Hughes
Fields at home, a sister, Mrs. Orlie Dunn of Harrison County, and two brothers,
Lester Hughes of Felicity, Ohio and Ernest
G. Hughes of Harrison County, KY. Ms. Hughes was also predeceased by a
brother, Roy
D. Hughes.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, May 4, 1952 at the Smith-Rees Funeral
Home. Pallbearers were Paula B. Fields, Gano Fields, Joe Boyd Haley, Charles
Fields, Deward Fields, and Graves Carroll. Burial in the Jacksonville Funeral
Home.
