George W. Croyle, 71, of Kittanning, died at 11:25 a.m. Thursday (May 9, 1957) in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Croyle was born August 7, 1885 in Washington Township, a son of Thomas and Ellen Yale Croyle. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bessie Wyant Croyle; seven children, Henry Croyle, Clairton; James Croyle, Kittanning; Melvin Croyle, U. S. Navy; Mrs. Mildred Piperato, Freeport; Archie Croyle, Kittanning; Miss Catherine Croyle, Butler; Raymond Croyle, Kittanning; one step-son, Warden Wyant, Adrian RD 1; and 15 grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Samuel Croyle of East Kittanning; and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Lasher of Kittanning MR 10, and Mrs. Rose Hooks, Pittsburgh. Friends may call the Smith funeral home, where funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Rev. Walter Kennedy, pastor of Templeton and Goheenville Presbyterian churches, will conduct the service. Burial will be made in the Croyle cemetery.
