Age 71, passed away late Tuesday evening, May 16, 2023. Tim was born in Kalamazoo on May 28, 1951, the son of Benjamin and Jeanne Elizabeth (Braybrooks) Doonan. He was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. Tim proudly served his nation in the United States Air Force from 1970-1974. He worked for twenty-five years at General Motors. He was married to Sally Hoenig who survives him. In his spare time, Tim enjoyed gardening and photography. He also enjoyed water sports, especially driving his boat, sailing and kayaking. He loved his 1996 Corvette and was a member of the Corvette Club. Besides his wife, Tim is survived by his sons, Benjamin (Shannon McGuire) Doonan of Portage and Sean (Tina) Doonan of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Caleb, Abbygail, Riley, Madison, Grady and Taylor; siblings, Kathleen (Jim) McDowell, Jonathan (Jim Stafford) Doonan, and Jeanne (Greg) Doonan; several nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. Tim was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Michael Doonan, James Doonan, and Patricia Austin.
