She had been a member of the Plain Dealing Baptist Church, Plain Dealing, LA, since April 1926. She was a 1927 graduate of the Plain Dealing High School and attended Northwestern State Normal, Natchitoches, LA. She received her Masters Degree from Stephens F. Austin in Nacogdoches, TX, and had taught in LA schools from 1928 until her retirement.
Interment followed funeral services conducted at the Plain Dealing Baptist Church, Tuesday, October 3, 2006.
Pallbearers included Bill Davis, Larry Gaiennie, David & Allen Gray, Bill Hearn, & Dr. Malcolm McKellar.
